# Accounts & Wallets

`perps.` uses Privy for sign-in and wallet access.

Supported account paths include:

* Social or email login with an embedded wallet.
* External wallet connection, such as MetaMask or WalletConnect-compatible wallets.

## Why Sign In?

Signing in connects your activity to a profile. This lets the app track:

* Profile details.
* Connected social accounts.
* Creator eligibility.
* XP, badges, and rank.
* Testnet activity and public creator pages.

## Wallet Behavior

* Transactions are signed by your wallet.
* Wallet prompts should be reviewed before approval.
* The app does not require your private key.
* Testnet funds on Base Sepolia have no real-world value.

## Chain Scope

The current public testnet runs on Base Sepolia. If your wallet is connected to a different network, the app may prompt you to switch.

## Creator Identity

Creator launches require a linked identity. A wallet-only account may be able to explore and trade, but creator-market launch eligibility depends on supported social identity being connected to your profile.
